Getting good at ranking any website on the first page is all about starting out with some very low hanging fruit with the easiest to overcome challenges, and working at it (trial and error) until you finally figure out what works and what does not.  Once you learn how to get an easy to rank site listed within the top ten of the SERPs, you then work on progressively harder projects until you are able to do it with almost any project. Although this is an educational site, there are many ways to monetize it.  My thinking would be to use the traffic to sell books about coins and related items.  You could also create an auction site on this domain and sell coins held by collectors.  If I were to keep this site I would install a lot of content related to all kinds of coins, but with a majority of it being about  pennies in general, then I would try to sell the site to the owner of a coin shop.  There are thousands of coin shops throughout this land.
