Becuase I did not have time to add more content last year, these sites were deindexed by Google  about march of this year (Google Farmer/Panda update).  Despite this, they are still getting an small amount of traffic every month even though it is not yet  halloween. (screen shot shows one site – all the costume sites I have listed are getting about the same numbers)

Why should you consider these sites then? Just few costume sales will get you back your initial investment. Non-google search engines will bring you traffic and the sites are already built. They already have a handful of backlinks each and further backlink work  would improve ranking and bring more traffic.

I am keeping a handful of sites just like these that have also been deindexed by Google. Here is what I plan to do:

- Add more content, besides the individual costumes, there are accessories, matching party supplies, etc. that can be used for more KW targeted pages.

- Drive traffic directly via articles, and other means.

- More backlinking

- Make a case to Google that the sites were deindexed becuase they were in their very early stages at the time they made their algoritm change and the sites have a lot more pages since then. I may get re-indexed but if not, the other search engines do bring a good amount of costume sales every year.
